Blogging for MLM Success Part 1 of 3 Why
and How Does a Blog Actually Work
To blog or not to blog, is that the question? If your goal is to have an enormous amount of traffic to your business website, you are going to need a centralized website. Your blog is sometimes referred to as your Nerve Center because this is the hub where everything is supported. Most business owners choose to create a blog for this purpose, and in having doing so, have generated considerable MLM success.
Yet, can blogging get you MLM Success and if so how? When I began marketing online, this was one of my major questions. I wasn’t sure what blogging was, and I really didn’t understand why anyone would want to read another person’s blog. After being online for awhile, I realized I wasn’t the only one with this thinking. I think this perception came about because when blogging first became widely known, blogs were usually used for personal use. They were a good way for family and friends to keep up with each other, as well as a helpful outlet for people to “let off steam” in their writing. Yet the blogging world has changed through the years, and business owners, in particular those in the MLM industry, soon jumped onto this new trend and found it very successful.
Blogging is a great way to build your presence online, and isn’t that the general goal when marketing online? Think about when you first encounter someone on the web through social media, or any other website they may have. At first you really know nothing about them. However if this person peaked your interest in their article, or in your online conversation, you are going to want to discover more about who they are and what they do.
In today’s technology age, if a person wanted to know more about you, they most likely won’t pick up the phone and call. They will search for you online. The first place a person will usually go is Facebook. Facebook is a great site where people will learn an overview about you both socially and professionally. If you have setup a good profile on Facebook, you will certainly have a link for someone to discover more about you. This link should take them to your nerve center – a.k.a Blog. Now if someone isn’t on Facebook, then they will elect to search for your name on Google or another search engine. The first thing that should pop up when someone searches your name should be your blog (if you have it optimized well).
It’s crucial to understand the blogging concept before ever setting one up. The look of your blog is important. It should look clean and professional, yet very inviting. You should convey the appearance that you are a leader in your industry, yet you are accessible. One of the most important areas to include in your blog is an opt-in area. This is an area where visitors can input their contact information, in exchange for some value they are looking for. The purpose of the opt-in is two fold. First it gives you a lead who is interested in what you have, and a way to follow back up with them. Secondly, the value you give to your prospect can help create a little bit of trust with them since you were willing to give away helpful information.
Having a proper blog setup to be used in this manner can help you create leads, and assemble a successful MLM or any other type of business. Someplace on your blog you will have links to your primary business(es). People can learn more about what you do, and become interested in your business well before you ever have any contact with them. This is the power of a properly built blog. By having a successful blog, you are introduced to interested, pre-qualified leads. This picks up the pace for which you can assemble your business.
